Karl Wagner was born on March 8, 1924, in Milwaukee, and raised in Evanston, Ill. His father was a partner at the Arthur Andersen accounting firm in Chicago, and his mother was a librarian.

Mr. Wagner was born in 1925, in Davenport, to Karl H. and Edith L. Wagner. He graduated from Davenport High School as class president in 1944 and entered the U.S. Army that year.

The Rotary Club of Del Mar was no exception and Co-Presidents Suzy and Karl Wagner did not disappoint. Mindful of safety and travel restrictions, the club focused its activities on the community.

Karl Wagner has ventured a long way from The Knolls neighborhood in Central Peoria. In almost 30 years with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, he was stationed around the globe.
