The incident was first reported on traffic monitoring site, Inrix, at around 9.50am, with all traffic temporarily held on the northbound carriageway at J28 A373 Honiton Road (Cullompton/Service Area).

Lanes on the M1 southbound between J29 and J28 for Mansfield are closed due to a collision, National Highways reported at 7am on Wednesday, March 22. Lanes were closed following the incident.
