WELSH swimmer Ieuan Lloyd enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2012 – but he insists there is plenty to work on if he is to convert potential into prizes at the sharp end of the sport.

Eirian Llwyd, the artist and wife of former Plaid Cymru leader Ieuan Wyn Jones, has died after a short illness. Ms Llwyd, who was 63 and born in Denbigh, died at Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital on Wednesday.
