I tried fdisk but it's HORRIBLE. I'm not going to partition a drive until I actually know which drive I'm doing it to, but fdisk in linux does not show partition information or anything.

When I reboot, grub has gone to cli. After wading through that (root (hd 0,0) chainloader +1 boot), I get into Xp- low and behold, my Linux partition has disappeared altogether!
