The Edmonton Ski Club was caught off guard by the city's decision to terminate the lease on its downtown ski hill. "They blindsided us, basically," president Monty Worobec said.
Edmonton's Snow Valley Ski Club and Sunridge Ski Area opened their hills this weekend, as did Rabbit Hill Ski Club just outside the city.
The ski hill is expected to be open Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., however, the chairlift won’t be running again. Skiers and snowboarders will need to use the T-Bar to access the top of the hill.
