Neighbors around the Carrollton water plant were notified Friday morning on Twitter that they can expect loud noise from the electro-motive diesel (EMD) generators with rain expected through Saturday.

The agency said it is running its EMD generators at the Carrollton Water Plant. According to the SW&B, this will give them the power they need to operate the drainage system.

Two of the five EMD generators that serve as backups to the turbines were out for repairs. The three that were available would not start, according to the report.
