Police activity has led to the closure of the southbound lanes of I-95 in West Palm Beach on Wednesday morning.

West Palm Beach police senior command staff said the department’s goal is to hire about 90 additional officers.

The move is part of the department’s “ongoing efforts to address traffic issues in CityPlace,” the department said in a news release.

Palm Bay Police Department briefly evacuated its lobby Friday afternoon due to smoke from a nearby electrical fire.
