While the Bear Den fire was caused by Mother Nature herself, Mandaree’s residents still want people to be self-aware so similar fires don’t happen out of carelessness.

Since Saturday, the Bear Den fire has consumed more than 13,000 acres, and while no injuries or deaths have been reported in this area, the same can’t be said for farmland and property.

The Bear Den Fire drew a coordinated response from the tribes, U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, North Dakota Forest Service, Department of Emergency Services, Army National Guard and Highway Patrol.
