Lord Cameron said that breakthroughs in treatment were too late for his mother, “but soon that won’t be the case for people living with dementia”. Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia.

"He knew his mother couldn't last forever," Cameron said. "Although for those of us, you know, born since 1952, we've always had the queen. And it feels like a rock of our lives has disappeared.
