Core itself is a free-to-play game with a built-in game creation system. As of Friday, Manticore Games says there are more than 50,000 "games, worlds, and events" that players can check out.

In 2020, Core launched in open alpha for PC players, allowing them to dive into the game's many portals. But now, the game is out on the Epic Games Store in early access.
