If the app is banned, where will TikTok’ers go? Clapper is a Dallas-based smartphone app that looks, well, a lot like TikTok. Clapper has been around for a few years but never caught on like TikTok.

In Apple’s U.S. App Store, for instance, video apps such as RedNote, Likee, Clapper, and Flip hold the No. 1, 2, 4, and 10 spots, respectively, in the Overall Top Charts as of Monday morning.

Clapper is also encouraging brands to set up their own profiles on the app. Gigi Robinson , a creator with more than 150,000 followers on TikTok, joined Clapper in 2020.

The app has been growing in popularity, and even before talk of TikTok's ban was heating up, Clapper was "averaging about 200,000 new weekly downloads," said Deadline.
