The Lockheed C-141 model is being prepared for testing in the Transonic Dynamics Tunnel, the world's first aeroelastic testing tunnel.

It was put together using the same Starlifter plane Lockheed had used to demo a civilian version of the C-141 that was never made. At its core, the plane was your basic Starlifter.

MEMPHIS, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Military engineers were in Tennessee on Sunday to try to determine why the wing of a U.S. Air Force C-141 Starlifter collapsed during refueling for a trip to Germany.
