After a year and half of investigating, the top U.S. aviation investigator formally determined that Boeing and its chief regulator were to blame for the Alaska Airlines blowout.

Boeing will be back in the hot seat Tuesday as the National Transportation Safety Board holds a hearing to present its findings from an investigation into the terrifying incident in which a door plug blew out of an Alaska Airlines 737 Max.

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) is set to be probed for its role in last year's Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE:ALK) Flight 1282 incident involving a sudden loss of pressure in the aircraft's fuselage.
