The best supermarket butter in the UK has been named by British shoppers, and you’d be stunned to know that it’s not Lurpak, Danpak or the famous Président.

Yet another nut butter containing those hi-oleic peanuts, only this time we’ve found them in one of Pip and Nut’s 12 delicious, exclusively palm oil free , concoctions.

At £1.97 for 450g, it’s half the price of the name brand butter, and rated among the best for texture with tasters. Lurpak came in fourth, impressing the panel on appearance, flavour and texture.

In May, All Things Butter - a brand set up by London chef Thomas Straker boasting 100,000 followers on Instagram - managed to secure £2.2m of investment just six months after its launch.
