Another band of snow is expected to hit the Baltimore area Tuesday with schools and businesses preparing for potentially hazardous conditions.

Today's weather will be quiet and chilly. Snow will accumulate several inches Tuesday afternoon into the night.

Weather Alert for Tuesday & Wednesday as a winter storm is expected to impact the entire state of Maryland with accumulating snow leading to difficult and hazardous travel in many locations. Winter Storm Warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service along with Winter Weather Advisories to the north of I-70.

The Baltimore area is bracing for rain, sleet and snow in the early part of the weekend before more wintry weather returns next week.

Chief meteorologist Tom Tasselmyer said that snow will begin across the region shortly after noon. However, the heaviest will fall overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. The first round of precipitation will be out by early Wednesday morning before a round of rain comes in Wednesday evening.
