In a major boost for Telangana’s IT ecosystem, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has reportedly committed to invest INR 60,000 Cr (around $7 Bn) to build data centres in the state.

AWS’ program will target a skill set — cloud computing — that was named in 2019 by LinkedIn as one of the skills employers would need most.

Amazon Web Services has said that it would contest the income tax department’s notice demanding INR 549 Cr in taxes on the fee earned from its cloud computing services in India.
