A commercial building in St. Paul's North End neighborhood was destroyed by fire on Sunday. The St. Paul Fire Department says crews were called to Fulton Flooring, at 315 Atwater St., at 1 p.m. The immediate area was shut down and police blocked nearby intersections as fire crews worked to contain the flames.

Crews from the St. Paul Fire Department (SPFD) responded to Fulton Flooring at 315 Atwater Street just after 1 p.m. on Sunday on a report of a fire.

Crews say the fire was spotted at around 1 p.m. at Fulton Flooring on Atwater Street. After Gene Hackman’s wife Betsy Arakawa was found dead with an open bottle of prescription pills near her body, authorities have shared new details about the medications found in the home.

Demolition is expected to begin soon of the remnants of a St. Paul building that was destroyed by fire Sunday. All that is left of the Fulton flooring building is a 15-foot high pile of burned rubble.
