Red Lerille, founder of Red Lerille's Health and Racquet Club in Lafayette, has passed away. The announement was made Friday afternoon on the health club's Facebook page. "It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Red Lerille on March 14, 2025. Red will be deeply missed by all," the post reads.

Lloyd "Red" Lerille, 88, business owner and award-winning body builder, passed away due to health complications after being in hospice for a month, sources said.

Lloyd “Red” Lerille, the New Orleans native who went on to become Mr. America and the owner of one of the South’s top gymnasiums, has died. The Holy Cross grad and Navy veteran was also Mr. Universe.

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Lloyd “Red” Lerille, the beloved Lafayette community pillar and founder of Red Lerille’s Health & Racquet Club.
