Following the blockbuster NBA trade that sent star point guard to the Los Angeles Lakers for star big man Anthony Davis, many fans of the Dallas Mavericks were angry. Much of the anger was geared toward general manager Nico Harrison as they couldn't believe he traded Doncic away.

For Harrison, winning just one title without Dončić won't do. He is all in, cards to the center of the table, certain he will prevail.

The most shocking trade in NBA history is still having ripple effects in the community less than a week later.

At 25 years old and the heir to the throne of Mavericks greatness handed down from Dirk Nowitzki, Doncic was revered in Dallas, and led the Mavs to the NBA Finals last year. It appeared he had another decade or so of great hoops with the Mavs ahead.

The day after the Mavs general manager traded Luka Doncic to the L.A. Lakers, Harrison met with reporters in Cleveland, before their game against the Cavaliers on Feb. 2. That session, which included coach Jason Kidd, was before a group of media that was a fraction compared to the SRO crowd that showed at the team’s practice facility on Friday.

There's a long list of players, coaches, or personnel who were close to Doncic that are no longer with the franchise since Harrison's arrival in 2021.
