Chicago garners two wins at the Beard Awards, the Oscars of the restaurant biz
Two Chicago restaurant industry standouts won top honors at the 2025 James Beard Awards hosted tonight at the Lyric Opera House. First up was the West Loop Japanese bar Kumiko, which won in the Outstanding Bar category.
And Galit in Lincoln Park is up for Outstanding Restaurant, nationwide. Galit specializes in Middle Eastern dishes and unique beverages. The awards are set for 6 p.m. at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
