President Donald Trump said Monday the tariffs against China would "go up substantially higher" than 145% if a longer-term trade deal is not reached before 90 days.

Donald Trump touted a 90-day pause on his trade war with China, which will see both countries back away from sky high tariffs that had ground shipments to a halt. In a joint statement, the U.S. and China said that they would suspend their tariffs for three months as negotiations continue.

A deal is yet to be made as the two countries negotiate in Geneva this weekend, but Trump touted his team had ‘a very good meeting’
