A person of interest has been identified in the weeklong search for missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki, according to U.S. authorities.

Authorities are continuing efforts to find Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student who has been missing for nearly a week while on a spring break trip in the Dominican Republic.

Sudiksha Konanki, 20, vanished at the beach of the Riu República Hotel in the early hours of March 6, sparking a frantic pursuit involving authorities from the Dominican Republic.
