Blizzard warnings are in effect for Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota as a winter storm brings heavy snow, high winds, and dangerous travel. The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned of significantly reduced visibility, road closures, and snowfall of up to 12 inches with gusts reaching 70 miles per hour.

"A narrow band of heavy, wet snow and very strong winds will accompany a late winter storm today and this evening," the warning reads. "Snow totals will likely range from 4 to 8 inches. There may be some isolated higher totals. In addition to the snow, strong north winds will gust from 35 to 55 mph.
