Absolutely wonderful venue for a truly unique experience. Non Japanese visitors can access English audio guides that help explain the history and performance. A must-visit for theatre fans.Full review by AMRaye

Very nice traditional theatre. Show a bit long but authentic. My girlfriend got bored but I loved it, the costumes, acting, sets were incredible.Full review by 699simony

I think the Autumn Banraku schedule starts Oct 29- Nov 20. There is website, English version. Just make sure you choose the right theater. The site is for several theaters in Japan, including Tokyo and Osaka. The website is very confusing. But you can make reservations from the website or you can take chance to buy a single act ticket on day of performance. Hope this help. It is fun, I strongly recommend.

We are in Osaka with a guide for a few days but will have one day (May 9th) on our own. We would like to see the Bunraku Theatre but have some questions: Times of performances? Cost of well-located tickets? Is there some form of translation for non-Japanese speakers? How do we book? What is the nearest train station?
