Hello There. I would like to ask if there's a bus to Taunggyi? and How much does it cost. Is there also a Public Vehicle that can go or at leats pass by the Kakku Pagoda, I don't wamnt to hire a taxi as possible. I will be on a budget and I want to experience it the cheapest way possible. Thanks in an advance.

We went by a private car. But I saw visitors in motorbikes, vans, & busses. Wonder how they organised. Sorry i cannot answer accurately.
Can anyone recommend a good driver/guide for the day to take us from Hehoe - Kakku - Lake Inle (with contact details please if possible)?

Hi! I was in Kakku in March, AMAZING place. I booked the trip (expect at least 2 hrs each way to get to Kakku from Nyaungshwe with the best driver ever, Mr Win by email: eversmile.ns.inle at gmail. com phone: 09428319914 and 09428316928. He has a private car (up to 4 people), the cost for the day trip is 50.000 kyats for the car plus USD8 for entry fee and guide p/person (mandatory) for kakku. He also took me to the airport (1 hr distance) at a much better price than the ones waiting outside the airport. The entire day trip is about 6-7 hrs, there´re a couple of restaurants outside Kakku where you can have lunch. For Inle lake day trip, my advice will be take the boats that are on the shore of Nyaungshwe, they do these trips all the time (visiting the main spots on the lake), you shouldn´t pay more than 20,000 kyt p/person. Some of them ride for a small group (1-2 people), others ride only when they´re full (4-5 people). Both trips (Kakku and lake) are extremely recommended, enjoy!
