Miriam, I don't know really how much it would cost to take a taxi from Karlovy Vary to Loket since we drove there, but I have a couple of suggestions. First, you may want to consider renting a car for just one day which would likely be less expensive. That way, you could take your time and not feel rushed when visiting the town and castle since it's worth a day trip. Next, you could try getting a couple of quotes from taxi services on the internet from Karlovy to Loket. I've found this to be a more cost effective way to travel with taxis in Czech since those hailed on the street can be less than totally reputable and can be very expensive. I hope this may help you.
