We were regular visitors to Rhino from 2006 to 2017. This is a unique camp on Kariba Lake (and we visited most of them). We've just revisited the place. Peter and Kelly are lovely hosts. Peter is an …Full review by 976jerzyz

An luxury rustic bush camp, situated within the Matusadona National Park on the shorelines of Lake Kariba. Guests are accommodated in seven twin bedded stilted wood and thatch chalets, each with its own en suite open air shower and flush toilet. Each chalet is on the edge of the jesse bush, facing the lake so they benefit from the cooling breeze from the water. It is not uncommon to have the wildlife walking in front and around the rooms, which allows for "close and personal" encounters with the game. Game viewing activities include drives, walks and tracking, and sunset cruises all in the company of a professional guide. For those guests who like to drop a line in the water, we also offer fishing for bream and the world renowned tiger fish, and Elephant Point is regarded as an excellent area to fish in.

My sincere apologies for the delay in responding. We did not see the notification of your message. Up to now it has only been the very adventurous who have driven to camp, as the roads are not ideal and quite hard on vehicles. A 4x4 with good clearance (Land Rover or Land Cruiser) are what is recommended, with 4x4 double cabs not ideal due to their stiff suspension. Normally we recommend that people drive to Kariba and we collect from there. But with Africa Parks having taken over the management of the Matusadona National Park since earlier this year, they have already started the process of rehabilitating the roads so by August, hopefully they will be in a lot better shape - although they have said that their priority are the roads within the park (for partrolling purposes) and they will look at the main entry/exit road later. There are also plans underway to have a fairly regular ferry service between our side of the lake and Kariba. This will allow people who drive to camp to be able to then cross to Kariba to avoid travelling back on the same route to exit the park (or vice versa). So in essence, yes you would be able to drive to our speical spot and hopefully by August, the roads will be a lot better. If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to email us. Hi there - presume you are Mr & Mrs Williams? If so, firstly congratulations on a great achievement and secondly thanks for choosing to spend this special occasion with us :). We stock a simple selection of the more common local beverages like wed/white wine, beers, gin, vodka, brandy and rum. We also normally have one or two different brands of whiskey, like Grants, Red Label, Bells, etc. But if you have any preferences, please let me know and we will make a plan to make these available for you. We also don't mind at all if you would like to bring your own favourite bottle/s of bubbly or spirits or whatever to celebrate your special day. Whilst you are on the line, are there any medical conditions or allergies that we should be aware of and do either of you have any special dietary requirements or preferences? Thanks Karl
