We enjoyed finding this spot, which is surrounded by cemeteries. The trench systems and football memorial (covered in team scarves) made for a very poignant memorial. Full review by Fi S

There was no football played here in the Christmas Truce of 1914. The cartoonist Bruce Bairnsfather recorded the event in his diary and never mentioned it. The FIFA monument is a travesty of #duffhis… Full review by colinw708
