Hello everyone. I am looking to climb Huayna Potosi in February of 2019. I know it's not the ideal time to climb but it's all i have available to me. I am climbing by myself and after a company that does tours for one climber. Also, is this something i have to book in advance? I am able to arrive in La Paz and shop around different agencies to find one a like and am I able to book only a day or two before departure? Or do the agencies need a certain number of days notice in advance? Thanks in advance

You can book Huyana Potosi climb even one day before the actual trip begins. I am not sure about the conditions in February though. And i agree you should be acclimatized prior to your arrival to La Paz. Huana Potosi and Andean Ascents are both good agencies.

The majority of the people climbing the mountain have no experience. The 3 day trip will help with getting used to the equipment and also help with some acclimatizing. The climb it self uses basic climbing techniques, but it's physically tough.
