Are there lockers to put your stuff in while you are at the beach?

Not provided by the park. There might be businesses outside that provide you that service, but it’s generally better to leave your things in your car, and your car parked in a paid parking.

That’s a very hard question. And it depends on what time of year you go. The summer months are December through April. The remainder of the year is the rainy season. I’ve been here four years and I have yet to see the entire country. One rule — stay away from Limon Provence which extends the entire Atlantic Coast. Gringos are easy targets for crime there. The Pacific coast is beautiful. Depending on how long you’re staying makes a big difference. You’ll most likely fly into San Jose. Poas, one of Costa Rica’s active volcanos is not far and you could take a day trip. They usually combine the day trip to La Paz Falls and a coffee plantation tour. From there I’d head to the Pacific. Jaco is the closest beach, but it’s known as a party town. Prostitution is legal in Costa Rica and bus loads of guys go there for stag parties. There is a wonderful day trip from San Jose to Putaranus, another coastal town, that offers a very nice, well put together catamaran tour to Isle de Tortuga. They feed you breakfast, a ride scenic ride to the island where they feed you a delicious lunch and then offer snorkeling and banana boat rides. They offer a bar, but the trip is suitable for children. I’d recommend going from San Jose and stay in Jaco at a family-oriented hotel, the Calypso Catamaran trip will pick you up there and deliver you back the following day. From there you can follow the coast south to Quepos and Manual Antonio National Park, which gives you a first hand rainforest experience and excellent views of Costa Rican wildlife. There are also zipline tours, rafting tours, deep sea fishing, etc. Follow the coast a little further to Ballena National Marine Park and take a half day tour for whale watching. That will be a busy vacation but you’ll get an overall view and experience of Costa Rica. I do hope this is helpful. Here the people are kind, compassionate and sincere. Guns are very rare and the police are very friendly and helpful. It’s a very rare place.
