My husband and I have rented a cabin for next weekend though VRBO very close to Long Lake Recreation Area. We will have our daughter and son-in-law and two grandchildren with us. Grandkids are 5 and 7. They love the water. What fun things are there at Long Lake? I have read that there is a nice beach. Can you bring your own floats, toys, etc.? Do the grandkids need a license to fish? It will basically be them fishing. Can you rent boats, kayaks, canoes? Any other suggestions? Thanks for any info! Teresa

This is a state park with 2 nice beaches, including one for dogs. You can bring your own toys, too. However, there are no rentals (or even lifeguards). You do need a license to fish if you are over 16...little kids are ok. There is a public pier between the two beaches that the kids can fish from.
