Bano block is a CD block that forms an administrative division in the Simdega subdivision of Simdega district, in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Gumla district was carved out of Ranchi district in 1983. Till 30 April 2001, Simdega was a subdivision of Gumla district and was made a separate district from that date.
