We got to the park to tour the cave just as it opened by ourselves which was great. The ranger station was briefly closed at 8:30 for a bit but we got into the temporary digs. This is an amazing site. Full review by rogersober

I loved my time at Russell Cave. I visited on a chilly December morning and was the only visitor present...so, nice a quiet. There is a short walk through the forest on a boardwalk to get to the cave… Full review by Alicia_JA

How long of a walk from the visitor center to the mouth of the cave? Thanks in advance!
A:
Maybe ten to 15 minutes, not very long. The ranger took us on the tour. You cannot enter the cave. The walkway is paved with asphalt. There are rat snakes that live near the walkway.
