Highly recommend doing the Ross Maxwell Drive. There are numerous pullouts to see beautiful vistas. Make sure to stop at the Sotol Vista, Mule Ears View Point, Castolon, and the Sublett House Ruins… Full review by MMUPnorth

This is a nice long drive where you get to see all kinds of different rock formations. Make sure to have a full tank of gas and plenty of water. Some of the overlooks have toilets Full review by TravelingBum52

From Panther Junction Visitor Center to Cottonwood Campground, approx 1 hour and 15 minutes. Many great turnouts and photo opportunities. I would say 4 to 5 hours …

We stayed at the Gage Hotel in Marathon and did 2 Day Trips to BBNP. Hampton Inn in Alpine would also be a good option for someone that did not want to camp out... Marathon is slightly closer to BBNP than Alplne, but both are neat small towns.

Are there size restrictions on vehicles traveling this road? We will be coming in a 24 foot Class B RV.

No restrictions on Ross Maxwell. Has a few steep inclines. Only the Chisos Basin Rd has length restrictions.

Yes it is and enjoy it! Just remember to not make too much noise as many motorcyclists fail to heed that.
