Loved this place. It's a stepwell . You are not allowed to go down . It's on the way to Amer fort. You can take photos in Rajasthani attire. The photographers there were really good.Full review by travelrims

I believe it is always open as there is no entry fee...just a man how is there keeping an eye on it. I'd suggest early morning or evening (late afternoon when the shadows are longest as the really enhances the dramatic shadows on the steps. Also take a moment to look around the area outside the gate as I found it very atmospheric and calm! Enjoy!
