Depends on how much information you want to absorb... Sure you can walk through in an hour but visiting these amazing buildings and learning about how people lived not very long ago is pretty fascinating. Better to take your time.
Q:
Are trolley tours available?
A:
Think you can get a ridding tour on a large golf cart with a very knowledgeable driver. You can probable call and request as the staff are very helpful. An excellent display of history for all ages!
Q:
Appropriate for elderly parents? Dad in wheelchair, Mom with walker?
A:
There is a paved path but there is quite a bit of walking outside. You can probably push your Dad in the wheelchair but I'm not sure how far your mom can walk.
Q:
can you just show up or do you have to inform them you are interested in taking a tour ?
A:
Just show up during business hours. No need to schedule anything. Have fun
