One of the oldest wooden piers left, an it has always been a good experience. Helpful employees, lots of fishing supplies and gifts. One rod allowed. Parking can be a bit of a challenge.Full review by 647eddiee

This is what I pulled off the online visitor's guide for the area: The pier, and the pier house facilities including restrooms,is open 24 hours a day, generally from April 1st until November 30th. Kure Beach Fishing Pier is a family friendly destination, and as such, no alcohol is allowed on the premises.
Closes in november. Opens back in april. Beware of rules and laws that force you to rent expensive hotels. Also after season beware. There are NO Bathrooms open for the public.

Yes, there is fishing. A regular pier fishing pass is $7 per rod, while kingfishing at the end of the pier is closer to $20. There are four restaurants in walking distance that range from calabash-style seafood, Italian, and American diner fare. One shirt shack and a bar round out the offerings just outside of the pier. If you wish to drive a few miles south, there is a great aquarium and the Ft. Fisher Civil War site. The same area features a ferry can take you to the town of Southport for shopping, food, and more.
