We had a Thibodeau(x) Reunion in Canada and visited this site as a large family group. It is always emotional for us since our ancestors were among the Acadians deported during the 1700’s. The site…Full review by James T

Grand Pre was a impactful experience for me. We learned so much about Acadian history, which was both compelling and, unfortunately, quite sad. The Grand Pre site is beautiful and engaging, and I'm s…Full review by Aaron M

Great place to visit to learn more about the sad history of the area. It's free to enter the grounds but if you want to watch a 20 minute film & go inside the Memorial Church you have to pay a fee.Full review by Angel57

You can take as little time or as long. Unfortunately, we arrived at 4:30 pm and they closed at 5. So we managed to catch the 20 minute historical film (which you need to watch to understand what happened). And the rest of the time, we spent outside walking around but really didn't do it justice. The church closes at 4:30 pm so you should get there latest around 2 pm so that you can spend 2-3 hours there.

If you have the time, transportation and a sunny day I would recommend Luckett's Vineyard for lunch. You can walk through a section of the vineyards and then enjoy a wonderful view of the valley and Cape Blomidon as you enjoy your lunch and sample some local wine. If weather is unfavourable I recommend The Port Pub in Canning. If vineyards don't interest you, take a walk along the main street in Wolfville and enjoy the many shops/galeries and try one of their cafes if you are looking for a quick bite.
