There's no problem really. The trip up on the bus is about 15 minutes plus a stop for photos. It's a bit of a bumpy ride but there is a running commentary to take your mind off any worries. Sit on the right hand side of the bus if it's a major concern. The walk is fine though your wife might opt out of standing on the viewing platform - she won't be the only one! It's well worth it.
