Hi Jerry, thanks for your question. You already got some great answers but happy to add some further information. To get certified you'd be looking at the Open Water course. The minimum age for this would be 10 years old. We'd recommend to use the PADI eLearning for the theoretical part of the course. You can do it in your own pace and saves you a day in the classroom while on holiday. Following the completion of the eLearning you would need 2 full days to complete the course. Two mornings of skill practice in confined/pool conditions, and two afternoons with 4 open water (ocean dives). We have trained many younger divers before and are looking forward to welcoming you to our beautiful island!

Hi SimplyJR, my wife and I went with dive Tech because they offered dive excursions using 'under water propulsion devises' which are like holding on to a personal torpedo....lots of fun. We did not stay at their condos but I can tell you that area is awesome and the folks running the dive shop are wonderful. I would enquire with them to get more info regarding the condos if that is your main concern. Good luck. George
