We went on a half day tour in January. Very fun experience! Our guides Cowen and Hannah were very skillful and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the local history and stories. It was a workout …Full review by 994yangs

This tour was a highlight of our time in Big Bend! Cohen was a phenomenal guide, with lots of detail about the area, the wildlife and the river. The canoe trip was low stress and relaxing. Highly rec…Full review by Connie M
Our group has an 8-year-old, three 6-year-olds, and a 1-year-old. All laid back and up for adventures. Would we be able to do any of the river trips with these ages?

We had a friend who is 68 and not very mobile and BBRT planned a nice trip for us that took our friends limited mobility into account. The Hot Springs raft trip would probably be a good bet. Much depends upon the water flow in the river. Hope you have a great trip, Big Bend is wonderful.
What items do I pack for a river trip? Water shoes, water bottle, wet bag, sun block, swim suit, ??? Is pick up and drop off at the office in Terlingua?
A:

Yes to water bottle, sunscreen, water shoes (or sneakers you don’t mind getting dirty/wet). There won’t really be much of a chance to swim, or at least wasn’t on our trip; you could ask if there will be on yours. They also did have sunscreen. If you have hiking-type, quick-dry pants, they are ideal. And yes, pickup, and drop-off are at the office in Terlingua. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Is there any 1/2 day trips down river over the next couple of weeks ? Today dates 2-28-18 Please call Terry 512-217-7456
A:
I know that they do 1/2 day tours. As I recall, they don't go through Santa Elena Canyon. If possible I would recommend taking the whole day tour through the canyon.
Can you accommodate people in their early and late 60s? Fair health, low-moderate stamina. No experience with canoes. Late March/early April this year. What, if any, day river tour would be best?

I think your loved ones will do fine in either a full or half day RAFT trip. I wouldn’t suggest the canoes. We went on the full day raft trip and the water was high with a strong current. It was and felt safe, sturdy and smooth. If Doug is still there, ask for him as your guide!
